Fromm Physical to Digital
21 November 2026
Learn how to transform real-world physical objects into digital models in this hands-on one-day workshop with Fromm Studio.
This workshop offers attendees an accessible introduction to 3D software Blender and an understanding of how 3D can be used as another tool for illustration and image-making.
The workshop will start with an introduction to Fromm Studio. Hear about their process and how they use physical objects as a starting point for 3D work.
Students will bring along a small object and use their phones to 3D scan. Fromm will introduce the basics of Blender, showing how to bring in and clean up a 3D scan, working with cameras, lighting and materials, and build and simple scene. By the end of the workshop, you will have transformed your physical object into a digital creation brought to life in a short animated loop.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and illustrators or artists interested in bringing 3D into their practise.
This workshop is programmed in connection with Faerdom: Now, as Ever, on from 23 October 2026 – 29 March 2027.
Fromm Studio is a British 3D art and design studio founded by Vince Ibay and Jessica Miller in 2022. Inspired by mythology, folklore and their love of Staffordshire pottery, their colourful work blends the old with the new, reimagining stories and traditions through 3D animation, illustration and sculpture. Their creations have been used in commercials, editorials, exhibitions and physical installations.
