Deeney’s, an independent London food favourite, will operate the cafe at Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration.

Visitors can enjoy one of Deeney’s renowned toasties in the light and open space of the converted 19th century Boiler House of the New River Head waterworks or on the south-facing outdoor terrace.

Deeney’s built its reputation on London’s street food scene with its famous toasties, and now has permanent cafes in Leyton and at the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow. Their menu brings a Scottish twist to classic comfort food, including the popular Macbeth toastie filled with haggis, cheddar, caramelised onions and mustard.

At Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, the Deeney’s menu will also include fresh salads, seasonal soups and savoury dishes, alongside barista-made coffee from Allpress Espresso and a selection of sweet treats. Fully licensed, the cafe will also offer local craft beers and natural wines.

The cafe will be open with the Centre, Wednesday to Sunday from 10am until 4:30pm.
