As Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, New River Head in Clerkenwell will become a place to celebrate, champion and create illustration in all its forms.

Once part of a network that that supplied 50% of London’s water, the site connects us to more than 400 years of history. With stories captured in every brick and cobblestone, it is the perfect home for illustration - an artform with storytelling at its heart.

As we prepare to begin the transformation of New River Head later this year, we are delighted to open the gates for tours of the derelict buildings as they stand.

We invite you to explore New River Head’s past and learn more about our plans for its future as galleries, learning studios, community spaces, and public gardens.
